The X-mas Walk

After so many rainy, cold and snowy days, it seems almost incredible a sunny day just for X-mas! This means that I can go out for a walk exploiting the early afternoon hours before spending the rest of the evening with my family and friends for a traditional Christmast Day (including cakes and wine!!!)

So, I took my faithful walking stick and I decided to direct myself towards the Cimino Mountain and its sanctuaries-woods. After two km along the main road, I turned to some secondary country roads which, notwithstanding many rainy days, seemed to be in good conditions. It is possible to walk rather well... I had some problems when, after some crossroards, I arrived near the sanctuary. Here the road is rather muddy also because snow is thawing...


However, the landscape surrounding me is beautiful: great silence interrupted only by the birds' singing and, in the bush, a wild animal is moving... (maybe a wildboar)




Now is getting colder and colder and my walking is even harder for the bad conditions of the road; mud is increasing and sometimes the road is completely flooded. I kept of proceeding thanks to my trekking boots and my faithful stick.



Sometimes, walking through the sanctuary, I found some beautiful clearings where the sun can filter creating beautiful imagines made vivid by a cold wind and embellished by a complete silence.


Finally, after a long walk, I arrived to a spring which is my final destination. Now it is better to turn my walk back home because the sun will set suddenly and it is better not to be catched by the darkness here. My walk has been rather slow till now, but now I'm speeding up!


After this beautiful and long walk in the sanctuary, I finally arrived at home just before the sunset where I found, in a happy gaiety, my family, many friends ,a warm fire in the chimney and glasses of wine...
